A hare courser who caused damage to wheat and crops on a farm in Benwick last month is now £2,505 out of pocket.
Craig Rooks, who had a previous conviction for coursing, admitted causing criminal damage when he appeared before Cambridge Magistrates on Thursday.
The 56-year-old from West Yorkshire was fined £2,500 and ordered to pay £500 compensation to the farmer.
He was arrested by the Rural Crime and Action Team (RCAT).

Never recall a fox hunter grabbing a fine like this.
Are these coursers easier targets?
FILTHY SCUM LIKE THIS SHOULD BE LOCKED AWAY FOR A VERY LONG TIME THEY ARE A ABSONUTE DISGRACE.
