Man charged after hare coursing incident near Ludgershall

30th July 2026

A man has been charged with multiple driving offences following a hare coursing incident near Ludgershall earlier this year.

Tommy Frankham, 21, of Sandy Lane in Bushey, Hertfordshire, faces charges of dangerous driving, driving without insurance, failing to stop for police, and using a motor vehicle where the number of passengers carried is likely to cause danger.

The charges relate to an incident on April 25 on rural land near Ludgershall, where officers responded to reports of hare coursing involving three vehicles.

One vehicle was located on the A303 in Hampshire, while another was found abandoned.

Both vehicles contained dead hares, lurchers, and equipment associated with poaching.

Seven people, including Mr Frankham, were charged being equipped for searching for or pursuing hares with dogs.

He is due to appear at Swindon Magistrates’ Court on August 26.

  1. LOCK THE BASTARDS UP SIMPLE AS THAT. Because of all the criminals in this country we need more prisons NOT houses. Why have we got so many criminals because of the stupid laws in this country and all this human rights CRAP. Bring back capital punishment and also national service for male and female teens.
