A major independent report submitted to the Department for Environment, Food & Rural Affairs
The National Anti Snaring Campaign is pleased to publish this important new report by Professor Stephen Harris BSc PhD DSc, one of Britain’s leading wildlife biologists.
Commissioned by the National Anti Snaring Campaign and submitted to DEFRA, the report examines the current use of spring traps in England, the welfare implications for wild animals, and the effectiveness of existing legislation. It also considers the widespread use of baited snap traps, their impact on non-target species, and whether current regulations reflect modern scientific evidence and animal welfare standards.
Drawing on extensive field observations, published research and current trapping practices across Britain, the report provides a comprehensive, evidence-based review intended to inform Government policy and the ongoing review of wildlife trapping.

These traps are a disgrace as are all traps leave the wild life alone come on DEFRA do something good for animals for a change. WHY the hell these traps are used is beyond me animals getting caught in any trap is stressful and painful so BAN ALL KINDS OF TRAPS FOR ANIMALS. I personally would like to see the scum that lay these traps get caught in them see how they like it. Anybody that can intentionally hurt a wild animal is filthy evil SCUM.
