Naheem Hussain was identified as one of six men in a 10 minute-long video of a cockfight.
A Birmingham man has been banned from keeping animals for 10 years for attending a cockfight held in the city.
Naheem Hussain, 41, of Nansen Road, Saltley, appeared at Birmingham Magistrates’ Court on May 22 following an investigation by the RSPCA.

The investigation was launched after a mobile phone seized by West Midlands Police during Operation Moss – an RSPCA investigation into organised dog fighting in Birmingham in 2023 – was analysed and cockfighting videos were discovered.
Hussain was identified as one of six men in a 10 minute-long video of a cockfight.
The RSPCA’s Special Operations Unit – which investigates serious and organised animal crime – launched an investigation and managed to trace Hussain.
Alongside the 10 year animal disqualification, which he can not appeal for five years, he was also sentenced to a 12 month community order with 25 rehabilitation activity requirement days, ÂŁ150 costs and a ÂŁ114 victim surcharge.
He had previously pleaded guilty to one offence of being present at an animal fight involving cockerels at an unknown address in Birmingham, on July 30, 2023, contrary to Section 8 (2) of the Animal Welfare Act.
Speaking after the hearing, RSPCA investigator Inspector Rick Maskell, said: “Hussain confirmed that he can be seen in the images taken as stills from the video of two cockerels fighting.
“He is seated beside the fighting birds and appears to be filming some parts of the fight as well as using his hands to encourage them to continue. He makes no attempts to stop the fight.
“When interviewed, he claimed to have no recollection of the fight or the location, and denied ever fighting cockerels.”
In mitigation he said he had not appreciated the significance of his offending as a spectator.

If the courts can give this evil bastard a 10 year ban (should have been life) why the hell do they only give the scum that illegally hunt fines???
