This morning, we witnessed the horrors of stag hunting as the Quantock Stag Hounds killed aย magnificent stag at the start of the new hunting season. The stag was chased from the lowlands of Weacombe up onto the hills, crossing the steep slopes of several combes with hunt and hounds in pursuit.
The stag became visibly tired and disoriented near Den’s Combe, panting as he walked backwards and forwards through gorse, not knowing where to go to escape. Leering hunt followers who lined the hills relayed the stag’s location as he collapsed with exhaustion, unable to continue any further.
Sabs ran towards the gunman to try to intervene as he approached the stag, but could not get close enough before the shot rang out. The stag’s neck was then stabbed, sending blood pouring onto the gorse. His body was dragged onto a quad bike, but those on the quad were unable to hold his weight, so he was then offloaded and thrown into the back of a hound van. A trail of blood dripped in the wake of the van as it drove off, with blood continuously pouring out of the stag’s body.
Red deer on the Quantock Hills will now face the relentless bloodlust of the Stag Hounds until April. We will continue to join them to document and stop their cruelty and killing whenever we can.

HUNTING WITH HOUNDS IS ILLEGAL SO THEY ARE BREAKING THE LAW, TO CHASE A MAGNIFICENT CREATURES LIKE THIS STAG TO EXHAUSTION AND THEN JEER AT IT IT JUST UNACCEPTABLE AND THESE BASTARDS MUST BE BROUGHT TO JUSTICE. PERSONALLY I WOULD LIKE TO SEE THEM ALL CHASED BY A PACK OF LIONS AND RIPPED TO BITS, THIS NEW GOVERNMENT MUST GET ON TOP OF ALL THIS MURDERING OF INNOCENT ANIMALS BY EVIL PARASITES.
