Campbell is accused of murdering Brian Low by shooting him in the neck and body with a shotgun as Mr Low walked his dog on Leafy Lane, Pitilie, on 16 February 2024. According to an article in The Courier (paywalled), prosecutors claim Campbell had ‘previously shown ill-will and malice‘ towards Mr Low.

Campbell is further accused of attempting to defeat the ends of justice between 16 February and 24 May 2024 by hiding the alleged murder weapon.

Campbell made no plea during the court hearing and was remanded in custody. He is due to appear in court again within eight days (this useful blog by Scottish advocate Andrew Crosbie outlines the court procedure for those facing allegations of serious crime such as murder).

As this case is live, comments are turned off until criminal proceedings conclude.

  1. How sad that the solution to anger is using a weapon to KILL.It is a final solution to a temporary problem. This man resulted in the loss of a life and the victims’ family haslost a father, brother, or son.I live in the U.S., which is sadly a very violent country, and many humans furiously defend their right to own guns.Several years ago, lawmakers wanted to understand why there is somuch gun violence in the U.S. They used taxpayers money to, I wouldassume, hire researchers to find out. Well, when the study was released to lawmakers they did not like the results, they culled it, and hid it from citizens. Surely, the National Rifle a$$ociation, and gun $tore owners also made sure the study was culled. It turns out that the largest reasons for gun violence were:1. gun owners using the gun to kill another person, like a neighbor2. gun owners using the gun to commit suicideThe study determined, that gun owners were 40 TIMES more likelyto use a gun for those reasons, than to protect themselves from an intruder. Have a peaceful day.
