Hunt supporter pleads guilty to assaulting a hunt sab

Message from Somerset Hunt Sabs

13th December 2023

On the 28th of January 2023 one of our female sabs was assaulted by Steve Pinn while he was on his way to conceal the body of a fox that the hounds had just killed and ripped to shreds. Business owner of Steve Pinn Countryside Services changed his ‘not guilty’ plea last minute and pleaded guilty to the following charges:

Assault by beating – 28th January 2023

The sentence was as follows:

  • £150.00 – Costs to Crown Prosecution Service
  • £757 – Fine
  • £303 – Surcharge

We’re obviously gutted that the Weston and Banwell Harriers haven’t been charged for the hunting of the fox. Hopefully, Steve will have learnt his lesson and other people who are part of the hunt and follow will think twice about being violent at their meets. Maybe companies like Old Jollop and Uphill Castle Cricket Club should now think twice about advertising their association with a convicted felon.
