Two men have been charged in connection with an illegal fox hunt on land in the north west of Leicestershire.
John Finnegan (34), of Gaddesby Lane, Kirby Bellars, near Melton, and co-defendant Rhys Matcham (29), of Kennel Drive, Badminton, in South Gloucestershire, are due to appear before Leicester magistrates this week.
They are accused of “hunting a wild mammal with dogs”, an offence which falls under under Section 1 of the Hunting Act 2004, according to Leicestershire Police.
A spokesman for the force said the charges relate to an incident on land at Breedon on the Hill – in the far north west of the county, off the A42 – on February 4 of, this year.
He confirmed that the offences relate to illegal fox hunting.
They will both appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court tomorrow (Wed).

interesting to see if this succeeds in getting a prosecution – it so rarely does i am not holding my breath. if successful will try to find out why as all others seem to fail. still trying to find out the secret to successful case. if anyone knows the answer pls let me know
These people should be self isolating so why are they continuing to carry on turning out to slaughter our wildlife. Are they that twisted and evil. They should be prosecuted as any one else would be.
