Think back to Boxing Day 2018 and to these two pantomime dames, walking up and down shaking a bucket and begging for money for the “poor” hunt staff on Tarporley High Street, well given the history this hunt has for illegal activities we suspected they didn’t have a licence to do this …… and we were correct Cheshire Hounds breaking the law again…. wonder if they will be offering refunds or maybe they should make a sizeable donation to a fox welfare charity ……

Thank you for your enquiry regarding the collection of money for Cheshire Hunt Staff which was carried out on Tarporley High Street on Boxing Day 2018.
I have now concluded my investigation into this matter in accordance with the Cheshire West and Chester Council Enforcement Policy.
In pursuance of Section 5 of the Police, Factories etc (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1916, as amended by Section 251 and Schedule 29 to the Local Government Act 1972, the Council of Cheshire West and Chester has put in place regulations with respect to the places where and the conditions under which persons may be permitted in any street or public place within the District of Cheshire West and Chester to collect money or sell articles for the benefit of charitable or other purposes. The Cheshire Hunt did not have a permit to collect money in the street on Boxing Day.
In accordance with the Enforcement Policy and as a result of their actions on Boxing Day in holding a collection without the required permit/permission, the Cheshire Hunt have been sent a written warning, as to their future conduct with regard to street collections. They have also been sent advice on how to apply for a permit for any future collection.
The complaint and this response will be held for future reference.
