FOUR Cumbrian men have been cautioned by police after admitting breaching hunting legislation.
Peter Coward, 69, of Bardsea, Andrew Mitchel, 63, of Little Urswick, Edward Benson, 61, of Kirkby-In-Furness and Philip Harvey, 32, of Barrow, were each served official cautions by Cumbria Police, said a press statement from the League Against Cruel Sports.
The offenders, who were officially working for the Duddon Valley Fox Control Society, admitted to hunting foxes with a dog on March 17 at Broughton Moor, said the league.
They had permission from the Forestry Commission to carry out legal fox control on specified dates, subject to certain conditions, it added.
The four men were investigated by Cumbria Police after the League Against Cruel Sports said it received a call to their anonymous helpline.
